My wife and I hosted a small group last night. For a while now, we've either been in separate groups, or I've been helping one start. It was great to be in our home with a group of people to build community and encourage life in Christ together.
Looks like we have a good group, and will be about 8-10 people, a perfect size.
I think we're learning that too big doesn't make for a great or long lasting group. It doesn't seem to draw commitment from people.
I have a biased towards being ultra inclusive, but wonder if my assumption will be challenged by this, seeing that too many, too fast will result in losing steam just as fast and makes for little connection.
I'm thankful for a great bunch of people on my living room couches last night - that's why we bought them.
