Tuesday as I was walking around my neighborhood I asked a neighbor how she was doing. (her and her husband live behind me). Her reply: BAD. I went over to her with my kids and asked what was wrong only to find out that her husband has a few weeks, maybe even days, to live. In December with no previous signs, he found out he has cancer in 4 areas of his body. He's been downhill ever since. He finds himself in Palliative Care just waiting to die.
I went to see visit him today. He's down to 100 pounds, but is trying to stay strong. He surprised me and told me that he believes in chances, so I told him I believe in miracles and in the one who can do more than we can imagine. I got a chance to pray for him, so I ask you if you can pray for him too.
Please lift up a prayer for Jacques.
Imagine God would extend his life a little while longer... and imagine that he and his wife would open their heart to Him.
convergence: a story of experiences, learnings, failures, successes, goals, faith, spirituality, friends, and family through the journey of my life

Community BBQ (pictures)
What a great time Westside had last Sunday, hosting our 4th Community BBQ in D.D.O..
Here some pics of our amazing volunteers... a great turn out from the community... and the weather we had.
It was really cool to have lots people from my own street (it helps that we live close by)

New Years Prayer: The Holy Name
The Holy Name
Eternal Father, you gave to your incarnate Son the holy name of Jesus to be the sign of our salvation: Plant in every heart, we pray, the love of him who is the Savior of the world, our Lord Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

this prayer really struck a chord with me today; I started my day prayerfully walking around my neighborhood; I tried to be silent, reflect, pray. I couldn't help but think about and pray for my neighbors. How I long for them to know the incredible love of God the Father, to encounter their creator in a profound way, to know the story - the divine embrace - that their story (lives) can become apart of.
So I pray with the prayer above: Plant in every heart the love of him who is the Savior of the world, our Lord Jesus Christ...

neighbors & rakes
My unlcle lent me a different kind of rake - never saw it before. Has long teeth that combs the grass and removes old grass at the same time.
Worked amazing!!
I saw my neighbor cleaning his grass with a normal leaf rake... I boasted about this cool one I used and let him use it on his. He loved it!!
Today he rings the bell, says "Christmas is early,' and hands me over a new rake (the good one) as a gift - just like that (he bought one for himself too since he loved it so much).
Nuts, eh!!
I just love my neighborhood and what I learn about grace here.
