community prayer (recap)

Wednesday was our monthly community prayer. I was encouraged by the amount of people who came. Last month, 1 (me). Tonight, 11. More than the numbers was the encouragement that came from the prayers expressed.
I loved hearing people just thank God for stuff, or a prayer of adoration or worship. There's something beautiful about that.

We allowed Joshua 1:1-9 to shape our prayers. This is how:
Boldness, Courage, Trust in a God who is always with us, Faith to step out b/c God will never leave us, Vision b/c God has already sent us in the right direction.

Out of that great foundation, here's some prayers that were expressed.

GLOBAL
...for the people in Myanmar who faced horrific tragedy last week-end
...for courage and strength for aid works who will likely face overwhelming challenge

LOCAL
...favor with our municipality; DDO granted Westside permission to continue using the school, waiting for the official letter
...continual impact in our community

WESTSIDE
...2 volunteers for Kids Camp (July) to work alongside the main team
...new small group that started in April
...new people in our church community recently
...volunteers needed for KidsQuest
...our search for a KidsQuest director

PERSONAL... it was amazing to pray for a variety of personal needs
...Andy Harder's parents looking for wisdom as they comfort the family of Andy's uncle who passed away last week
...Natalia and Steve during Natalia's pregnancy which has been a little fragile
...Josy and Louie during Josy's tough pregnancy
...fast recovery of Wendy's foot operation
...friends and neighbors
