Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.Einstein
So I'm on a real quote buzz. This one really hit home in many ways.
1. my church community constantly reminds itself that we want be the right kind of church, not the church of a certain size; this is not copping out from growth - it's really been part of our journey... so this quote speaks volumes to me as a pastor
2. I just came back home from the Gathering Cafe; we had a smaller crowd (40ish) than last month (80ish), but I was telling a frequent attender that I was able to have better conversations tonight - and I did. It was great.
3. On the reverse side - I just mentioned things I do (#1 and 2), but I realize I can count the things I do as important - pastor a church, lead a cafe, meet with people... YET my kids and wife need me, and I NEED THEM - they ARE in my life - but I can't count - measure - the importance of time with them (I'm sensing a HUGE reorganization of my time and commitments in the near future to keep Saturday a sacred family day... it's brewing)
I guess the list can continue, but it's late. Hope you enjoyed the quote.
