Faithful

I highlighted in my last post how my car was starting to run out on me last week.
My 99' Nissan Altima was doing well. I was hoping to keep it going to 300K. Earlier this fall I told a new mechanic I could start looking for a car in about 18 months... he responded with: you should start this winter. I laughed, even though my Altima was hitting 230K at the time.
For a couple of weeks it started to choke from park to drive. I kept at it, thinking it was some dirty gas line. It got worse, so my wife and I started looking for a car - thinking that we'd find one, sell the old one, and not be rushed into a purchase.
2 weeks ago it got worse. I got it fixed on the Friday (200$), then Saturday it wouldn't leave my driveway. The end of this story is that it was the transmission (2000$+) and the car needed to be scraped. Here's the good news.

2 weeks ago we started looking for a car... just to get a heads up on prices - we were still convinced our 99' would live a little longer. Here's what you can call coincidence or God's faithfulness. We spotted a great private deal (after hours online searching for dealer deals) the same day our old car died in the drive way. We gave a low price but were not sure; Since we were the 1st to see the car the owner honored his price if we'd take it. We were out of a car for 4 days, and then picked it up on Wednesday.

The other great things that happened during this carless week is this:
1 person from our from church spontaneously lent me her car for an evening when I really needed it for ministry
3 others from our church (+ 1 friend) offered to lend us lifts or their car until we needed it
We felt blessed to know people would come through when we need it.

Simple news, but a great reminder for us that God is a great provider.
