Maturity should be measured by the speed at which someone is willing to obey God not the amount of information a person has about God.
(HT: Eric Bryant from Origins recap)
I believe this more and more. I know a few Christians who aren't following Jesus. They know alot, even a little, but aren't moving with God, obeying him, acting on his calling. What's the point, really? To know the gospel, the NT, and not follow, or live it. There's no use allowing anyone to model their lives after these people - they aren't leaders in the Kingdom.
How to help others grow towards maturity in our community?
People become what the environment reflects. Help your environment become missional. Move people into leadership and levels of influence who you want others to become like.
