NO TOUCHING

Over dinner last week, my son explained a ridiculous rule - his own words were, "the weirdest law that my teacher set" - at school today.

"What was that Andrew?"
"Mrs __________ told us that "no one is allowed to touch anybody."

We LAUGHED OUT LOUD for a 2 min. - so did he.

Then I thought about all the stats in our culture about people connecting and relating less, about the decrease in regular human touch, in the lack of community and meaningful relationships, the movie CRASH that declared that people longing to feel a human touch have to resort to crashing into each other.

So, you think it was just a rule to keep kids from irritating each other... or the early stages of what becomes an epidemic problem in our culture?
