Hearing God's Voice in the Music of U2

If you were at The Gathering Cafe on Saturday, you heard some interesting thoughts on U2's in theological and spiritual connection.
Our Guest - Rob Vagacs - clued us into U2's spiritual journey from the mid 80's to the present.
I'd love to hear your comments on it. Leave some here.

(I'll be posting some quotes from Bono's recent address at th e National Prayer Breakfast in the US later this week)

I've never been a crazy U2 fan and therefore never paid too much attention to their lyrics. Rob brought an interesting light to the band's spiritual search. More and more I am seeing this search for spirituality show up in movie themes and song lyrics all over the place... most times without a conscious awareness from the artists. This is telling me that there exists a void in humanity that will not let us rest until we fill it with a truth that goes beyond the normal everyday life...

Well said! Thanks for sharing.
This progressive increase of spiritual themes found in our culture - and the fact that people are embracing it, not rejecting it - does demonstrate our inate search for something deeper in life.
I believe this inate longing is how God created us because of his love for us and desire for us to be in relationship with him and therefore enabling us to find true meaning in life.
