Listen and Live

It's the 2nd time our church does what we call LISTEN & LIVE in our Sunday gathering. Instead of someone speaking/teaching, we interview 2-3 people in our church community about 1. how are they wrestling with their faith or listening to God in their lives presently, and then, 2. how are they responding or living it out.

We did this back in June and it was one of the better gatherings of our summer. Doing it again proved right.

I love hearing people (not just the teachers and preachers) share how they are trying to live their faith. It's so encouraging and challenging for everyone in the community. It communicates:
- I'm not alone, there's someone else who struggles like me
- there's Christ-followers who really take the intersection of life and faith seriously
- no ones doing this perfectly, but some are at least doing it
- it's so diverse, b/c everyone's present experience or decisions are so unique
- it provides an environment for others to ask insightful questions or share how they are listening and living

Long story short: I love these mornings. I'm encouraged by them. I'm challenged to consider how my faith intersects my life. It reminds me that I need to be listening to God and living it out
