Last Sunday we showed a DVD message that challenged us to carve out more margin in our lives - time, relationships, finances. To stop filling everything to it's full capacity and cut back.
I could imagine some go-getters might think: no, bring it on, I want to live to the max. But margin isn't about killing your potential (talent, skill, career), but about living within manageable limits.
I was challenged. So often I plan things back to back, no margin. I fill a meeting with too many items on an agenda. I plan too many appointments in a week or month that need lots of preparation. I fill up a vacation day with a list of to do's.
I live and learn, b/c the stress doesn't feel good.
I'm planning to cut some things out of my monthly schedule this next season b/c I've been feeling the need to focus on some key things God has called me to.
Then there's budget... my family has been working on a condensed budget since June, just trying to make sure we're spending within our income and have something left over with less stress. (I'll post on that another day)
I'll keep you posted on the progress.
