Todd Hunter on the kingdom, evangelism, and really living.

Here are 3 quotes from Todd Hunter, former director of Alpha USA.

On the Kingdom of God and the life God longs for us:

That the Kingdom of God was the main message of Jesus and the main reality in which Christians are to walk and invite others. Christian life is “eternal life” and that life starts now. I love the way Eugene Peterson puts it in The Message: “real life…life, life and more life to come”

On Evangelism, because I really want to believe people need to hear God's story come from my mouth as much as they need to see God's values come from my life:

That in spite of the growing difficulty with the task of evangelism, and even with the growing awkwardness and pessimism on both sides of the conversation, evangelism is still possible.

On ordinary people engaging God's purposes in the world in real life, with real people:

God’s purpose for us is that we are his cooperative friends serving others—the least, the last, the broken and the missing—in the everyday affairs and rhythms of our lives.
