For the last few days I've been in a conference for church planting. It's been full - actually a little too full - but lots of good moments:
...over 60 leaders from the association of churches I'm part of are here; that's from across the nation; that's how intentional this association is about impacting Canada through the local church
...I signed up for a 30 min. coaching time to just chat with someone and get an objective voice into my leadership and decision process - that was pretty cool, really enjoyed it
Among the important learnings and clarification/affirmation on some fronts of what Westside is up to these days, I have met some great people:
...Just tonight I met a great guy that God is using in Newfoundland. Jeff is leading Sprucehills Community Church, and is very humble about it. It was a fun conversation. Praying God continues to bless that community.
...I had supper with Mark; our paths have crossed several times over the last 2 years; he pastors a large church (2000), and ya, makes time to hang out with me (pastoring a church with 3% of that). Great walk from Gatineau to Ottawa, supper, conversation, and Starbucks (of course). A great high light, thanks Mark.
That's it for now... back to the hotel.
