today's my b-day, I'm 33... I can't shake the thought that that's the year Jesus died... I figure this is the year I truly die to my self (so I can live for bigger things: like God's mission, my family, and other people); more thoughts on that another day

I'm talking about change this Sunday; did you ever wonder if that saying is true: failing to plan is planning to fail; I wonder if our lack of intention or prevention creates the environment for failure in areas we never intended to fail in???

yesterday my wife and I hosted her immediate family (24 people including kids) for New Year's dinner; I'm glad we did... family is a good thing, plus I hope our home is used for others until our backs give out (hopefully another 40 years).
(if you're wondering how big her family is, it's big - 6 brothers and sisters and their kids; 24 didn't include a sister in TO, we would have been 28!)
